The bad news: ... word count. Ugh.
For this past week -- a BIG FAT ZERO.
Between DD being sick, me being under the weather and just being utterly swamped with other stuff, I didn't make the time to write. Please note: I did NOT say that I didn't "HAVE" the time to write, because there is always time. Always, always, always. A pet peeve of mine is folks who say they don't have time. So, I had the time, I just opted to use it on other things.
Shame on me. This coming week will be different.
The good news: ... I figured out how to fix "A Jewel For Geoff". Out of the blue, in the middle of a shower no less, the idea came to me! Woot! See... I didn't like the occupation I'd given the heroine and her family. It wasn't working, but I couldn't see a way out of it because I needed her to be somewhere doing something at one point. And then **POOF**, it came to me. And I'm thrilled.
The subconscious mind is a wonderful thing.
So, this week, I'm going to make those changes and see if the words flow on Geoff's story. If not, it's back to my fantasy (have I mentioned, lately, how much I love that story?).
BUT -- I WILL MAKE THE TIME TO WRITE.
How about you?

Well, I'd say that coming up with a fix for JFG is worth at least several hundred new words.
We're going to get dumped on again today. A good day to just hunker down and write.
Right?
I LOVE the rules!
And I agree with Ceri; fixing a manuscript has got to count for something.
Ugh...snowing hard here but I'm trying to ignore it.
So not being successful at that whole ignoring thing.
Hope you have a great Sunday! :)
I also love the rules! I think that fixing the MS is worth at least 20,000 words, maybe more.
Anytime I have a breakthrough moment it's always when I'm taking a shower or folding clothes. I think it's outstanding that you found a fix. When something just isn't right, it just undermines your efforts until you can banish the problem. Then you can have a new lease on your writing life. Good job!
Oh no, Marianne! I posted that I never have enough time!! Not for writing, though, I making a ton of time for that.. For everything else, like blogging and emails and FACEBOOK and MYSPACE.. :) So, am I safe?? :) LOL
Tiffany -- I LOVE YOUR IDEA. 20,000 words it is. LOL...
And, yep on the way minds work. When we try to force something, it balks like a mule. Relax, and it works with you.
Keri, LOL!! There's never enough time in the day for everything, but I always say if something is a priority, you'll make the time. If Brad Pitt, or the President, or Nora Roberts knocked on our doors for coffee, I bet we'd have time. Hmmm?
