So Far, So Good

Okay... I've been writing every day this week -- not a lot, but something. I'm only about 2000 words into my story, but I really do like it. The best part is that I can't stop thinking about it and have come up with some really fun ideas for scenes.

The "write every day" goal is a good one for me. If I had a word count goal (say ... 1000 words) and I only had a spare 10 minutes, I wouldn't bother to open the document and write, because I'd know I wouldn't make it. But, giving myself permission to write 5 words or 5,000 -- well, that works for me.

How's everyone else doing?

That's great! :) I have a simular work habit myself, not with writing, but with my art. Just like you, I made it a loose kind of goal... Just as long as I did SOMETHING that day, it would help.

The only writing I've done this year is in a journal format, and then only once about every three days. My hope is to get the motivation needed to write every day, even if just a little. Best of luck to everyone.

I try to hit a 15K day, but let's face it, it doesn't always happen. Just keep going!

great post.

I woke up Sunday a.m. to find my blog, my 500 plus followers, my 100plus author interviews, and my 200 plus reviews gone. Blogger gave no explanation, but I think the account was hacked. Change your password often!

I have reloaded the interviews and reviews, plus redesigned the blog. But if you could, please hit the "follow" button so I can reclaim the fellow bloggers I miss. I'm still following you, as my account remained--thank goodness!

How do you keep up with it, and stick to it?

Whatever it is remains to be done ... Starting from 5 words and then be on the increase ... not be felt, because we can enjoy it!
An interesting side note!

thats a great way to think about writing ,I have wrote and performed stand up comedy and getting my thoughts on paper is the missing link to getting on stage more.
I will take it as a suggestion.

That's what I do with my blog, I am new to blogging but I figured if I could write at least once every day that I would get more viewers and members... so far I have 50 of which 20 are probably mine so it's a start

Good read!

Great idea so you stick to it! I love writing, too.

that goal seems like a challenge. I have never tried it. I usually write in journal format or in bursts. *sighs* Thanks. Now all I need is motivation.

I love writing too, its amazing when your story comes together. I try not to limit myself and just let it happen. Sometimes I dont write for a week and other times I write every night. Everyones different though and there is no wrong way. Goodluck with everything!

A friend of James Joyce once came to his house to find James slumped over his writing desk in deep despair. He asked," James , what's the matter." "I've only written seven words today," replied James. "That's pretty good for you, James, sometimes you can't write a single word," said the friend. "That's not the problem, it's that I can't decide in what order to put them."

I plan to write more often myself

How do you remember to stick to it? Sometimes I can only get a paragraph or two done a day. I guess, though, word by word, a document will get done.

I try to write everyday, but I get overwhelmed in other stuff a lot. It's better now though, but I'm glad some of us are having a successful time. Keep it Up!

I'm in the same boat with my next book. I'm about 1/3 of the way through, and I have been trying to force myself to write at least a few words a day. Not easy, especially when the days are long and tough. But it's possible! Thanks for sharing.
