More fickleness

I was all set to work on my second in a series, but I got this idea, and then it wasn't running, and this morning while I was working out the plot and everything came to me.

So... I *think* I'm now going with magic realism.

OTOH, I may go back to my mystery.

I'm going to start massive interviews and notes on the magic realism piece in any case.

At least I'm actually in the realm of preparation now.

Why is it that it's so difficult to settle on one story and stick with it until it's complete and then move on to the next? Is Nora a fickle writer too? Or any other author who's out there making their living at writing?

I want to know their secret!

Good luck and have fun with your interviews. I have a houseful of crazed children (and a husband) to distract me.

That's the cool thing about JaNo (as opposed to NaNo) -- ALL your words count, so if you work on more than one project... it's okay!

Good luck.

Ceri, I'm distracted in a similar way, but I'm trying to disappear from time to time. Then Facebook pulls at me, because I guess I'm all about distraction.

Thanks, Marianne. I think by Jan. 1 I'm going to make a decision, though. Or at least sort of a decision.

I just did my 2009 plan last night, so now I don't have to think about what stories to work on. As things come to me, I will plop ideas and such in their tickler file, but each day's writing "work" is already set.

But then, I'm a CHART GIRL at heart, and that's just how I roll. ;)
