So I was on Charity's blog the other day teasing her about her playlists for her novels.
I have WRITING THE BREAKOUT NOVEL sitting next to me.
What did I do today?
This:
Pam's Playlist:
(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes – Elvis Costello
I Got Money Now – P!nk
Clubland – Elvis Costello and the Attractions
‘Cuz I Can – P!nk
Paralyzer – Finger Eleven
I Need a Man – Eurythmics
How Bizarre – OMC
Bring Me to Life - Evanescence
Lullaby – Shawn Mullins
I Can’t Stand Up For Falling Down – Elvis Costello and the Attractions
Take Me Out Tonight – Rent
New York – U2
New Lace Sleeves – Elvis Costello and the Attractions
Could’ve Had Everything – P!nk
Single – Natasha Bedenfield
Wicked Game – Chris Isaak
There Must Be An Angel – Eurythmics
Grace – U2
And it was damned useful. I really feel like I have a much better grip on both the story line and the characterizations. I still have to put in those conflicts that Darcy was grappling with.

Wow, I've only heard of one of those songs, the Evanescence song which I LOVE.
Tomorrow is the big day! I'm ready. Sort of.
GREAT playlist.
I haven't heard of any, Ceri! I'm so far out of the mainstream... the only way I hear new music is by watching "American Idol". *G*
Ready, Jen?
Great playlist! I don't actually listen to mine while I write, but the list of songs is kind of like the story's soundtrack and it reflects the story arc.
If that makes any sense, and I suspect it doesn't.
I want to read a book with that playlist. I louuuurve Elvis Costello!
Ceri, they are songs over a long period of time.
Thanks, Amy!
Marianne, I'm a music fanatic - I have to have music in large doses daily. But I can't write with it on.
Charity, actually it makes perfect sense. That's actually what I did. I had a MUCH better story arc after I did this. And I plan to listen to it while working out and I work out before writing, so I think it will be really helpful.
Thanks, D! I'm hoping so. ;-)
